Plans revealed for new music venue at Swansea’s Albert Hall
Plans has been revealed for creating a new live music venue at Swansea’s Albert Hall, a recent news report in the local media has been able to suggest.
The £8m refurbishment of the former opera hall on the corner of De-La Beche Street and Cradock Street is being led by Simon Baston, director of Loft Co. The company is also behind the development of The Tramshed in Cardiff, Goodsheds in Barry and the J-Shed in Swansea, among others.
Loft Co’s plans include the restoration of the 157-year-old building to create a mixed-use development which will include The DEPOT as an 800-capacity music and entertainment venue, as well as dedicated new spaces for lifestyle businesses and offices. The full refurbishment is expected to take between 12 and 18 months.
A boutique apart-hotel comprising of ten serviced apartments will also be created.
Any mixed use building of this type requires the implementation of a very serious access control and security solution on the premises, and this is exactly where Access Control Wales can put its expertise to very good use.
